Therapy isn’t about becoming happy all the time .  It’s about learning how to live more fully, through all of it.

Many of us (myself included!) grow up thinking that once we “figure life out,” we’ll finally reach a steady state of happiness, like it's a destination. But life doesn’t work that way. There are always ups and downs, stressors and joyful moments, often happening at the same time.

In therapy, one of our goals is to move through the hard seasons with as much ease and self-compassion as possible. We’ll explore the meaning behind the bumps in the road, how to grow through them, and what you can take away for next time, so that when challenges return (as they always do), you feel more equipped to handle them.

 

Just as importantly, we’ll also work on letting yourself fully feel the good: the warmth of sunshine on your face, a quiet moment with your kids, a belly laugh, or a small win. For people with anxiety or trauma histories, allowing those moments of peace or joy can be surprisingly hard and even triggering.

Often, therapy isn’t about learning how to live with pain, anxiety, or trauma. You've already been doing that. You've survived it. The deeper work is learning how to lean into joy, presence, and calm without waiting for the other shoe to drop.

In our work together, we’ll look at the patterns that shaped your nervous system’s response to both stress and safety. We’ll build tools to help you regulate and ride out anxiety when it arises and also create space for you to feel more grounded, open, and connected in the moments that are good.

I work with people at all different stages of their journey toward self-understanding and alignment: from those just starting to notice that something feels off, to those who’ve been self-analyzing for years but still feel stuck.

 

If you’re newer to this kind of work and just have a sense that life doesn’t quite feel like it “fits,” we’ll begin by helping you get to know yourself more deeply. We’ll explore what patterns are no longer serving you, which relationships or weekly commitments leave you feeling drained, what actually lights you up, and what your ideal day, or ideal life, might look like. From there, we’ll map out small, practical steps to help you move toward that vision.

If you’re someone who knows yourself inside and out (maybe you've been reflecting, journaling, or in therapy for years and can name every dynamic at play, but still feel unable to shift, then our work will begin in the body. We’ll focus on where your nervous system is getting stuck in overdrive, and how it may be quietly blocking your ability to act, change, or feel the way you want to. You already have the insight. Now we’ll build the nervous system tools to support your next chapter.

Together, we’ll identify the moments that activate your stress response and learn how to ride the wave instead of getting pulled under. Because healing isn’t just about understanding why we feel the way we do. It’s about learning how to move through it, reclaiming access to the calm, grounded version of yourself that’s already in there.
