Therapy Intensive: Executive Functioning Focus

Focused support in one day with tools you can use immediately.

When you don’t want to wait months to feel more organized or in control, a therapy intensive offers a concentrated, evidence-based reset. In this four-hour experience, we’ll map the patterns that keep you overwhelmed or stuck, understand how your brain processes tasks and stress, and practice tools designed for neurodivergent minds. Neurodivergence can be a superpower once you learn how to work with the strengths of your brain and learn to buffer some of your challenge-points.

You’ll leave with a personalized executive functioning toolkit and a clear plan you can start using right away, plus a 45-minute follow-up session (within 2–4 weeks) to support integration and continued progress.

Who this is for

  • Busy professionals, caregivers, students, or high-achievers who want momentum — not months of weekly therapy

  • Adults struggling with ADHD traits, task avoidance, overwhelm, decision fatigue, or follow-through

  • Individuals who feel scattered, stuck in cycles of procrastination, or frustrated by traditional productivity advice

  • People who already have a therapist but want a specialized executive-functioning skills boost

  • Clients who prefer clear tools, structure, and an actionable plan rather than open-ended talk therapy

  • Those who want systems that match their brain — not a one-size-fits-all approach

Not a fit if you are currently in crisis or need a higher level of care. I’m happy to provide referrals when a different level of care is indicated.

What to expect on the day

Total time: 4 hours (with a 15‑minute break)

1. Foundation, Mapping & Goals (≈ 75 minutes)

This first phase goes far beyond a typical intake. We start by grounding together, reviewing your pre-intake questionnaires, and exploring the patterns, habits, and overwhelm points that shape how your brain handles tasks, decisions, and daily life.

We’ll identify:

  • ADHD-related patterns like task initiation challenges, time blindness, avoidance, or difficulty with transitions

  • Executive functioning strengths and bottlenecks (planning, prioritizing, organizing, emotional regulation, working memory)

  • Burnout or overwhelm loops that disrupt follow-through

  • Perfectionism, shame, or “all-or-nothing” cycles that keep you stuck

  • Habitual responses (freeze, procrastination, distraction, shutdown)

  • Sensory, environmental, or structural barriers that overload your system

Together, we make sense of why things feel hard, not because you’re unmotivated, but because your brain processes and organizes information differently. We’ll identify the 1–2 high-impact areas that today’s work will focus on.

You’ll leave this segment with a better sense of how your brain is working behind the scenes and a focused direction for the rest of the intensive.

2. Nervous System Reset & Break (15 minutes)

A structured pause to support integration: hydrate, move, breathe, or step outside. This helps your brain and nervous system settle so the deeper work lands without overwhelm.

3. Skills, Processing & Strategy Deep-Dive (≈ 90 minutes)

This is the heart of the intensive. We move from understanding to real, practical change through targeted strategies tailored to your goals. This may include:

  • ADHD-friendly planning systems that match your brain (not generic productivity advice)

  • Tools for task initiation, follow-through, and prioritization

  • Breaking avoidance, freeze, or procrastination cycles

  • CBT/ACT strategies for unhelpful thoughts and perfectionism

  • Emotional regulation + nervous system tools for overwhelm

  • Time management, energy budgeting, and realistic routines

  • Environmental and sensory supports that reduce friction

  • Scripted supports for asking for help, setting boundaries, or delegating

  • Values-based goal setting that makes tasks feel meaningful rather than draining

We’ll practice these tools in real time so they’re embodied, not theoretical — and easier to use outside session. The focus is on creating clarity, relief, and genuine momentum.

4. Integration, Meaning-Making & Personalized Plan (≈ 30 minutes)

We close by weaving everything together:

  • summarizing the key insights from the day

  • highlighting the core EF patterns and what they mean for your brain

  • identifying the tools and strategies that clicked most

  • mapping out a realistic, neurodivergent-friendly 2–4 week plan

  • building scripts, routines, and micro-habits that fit your actual life (not an idealized version of it)

You’ll walk away with a clear, doable roadmap, not a list of overwhelming tasks.

5. Personalized Toolkit & Action Plan

After your intensive, you’ll receive a personalized PDF that summarizes your EF profile, the strategies we practiced, and your individualized 2–4 week plan.

It becomes your go-to toolkit:

  • simple

  • structured

  • neurodivergent-friendly

  • written in plain, supportive language

You’ll now have some specifics on what to focus on and how to implement it without getting overwhelmed.

6. Follow-Up Session (45 minutes)

Held 2–4 weeks later. We check in on what’s improved, troubleshoot challenges, refine your systems, and celebrate wins. This session supports integration and helps the changes stick long after the intensive.

Common questions

Is this therapy or coaching?
This is therapy provided via telehealth. Standard therapy consents apply, with an additional intensive supplement.

Can I submit this to insurance?
No. Because of the extended, bundled format, intensives are private pay only and do not come with a superbill.

I already have a therapist. Can I still do an intensive?
Yes. Many clients come for a focused skills boost and return to ongoing therapy with new tools. With your permission, I can coordinate with your therapist.

What if I realize I need longer‑term care?
We’ll discuss options, which may include moving into ongoing therapy with me if you are interested in that format and feel it would be a good fit. I can also provide referrals to other trusted providers if together we feel another modality would be a better match.

How should I prepare?
Complete your questionnaires, choose a quiet private space with stable internet, and bring water/snacks. We’ll take a 15‑minute break midway.

Ready to move forward?

Step 1: Request a free consultation (15-20 min), so we can make sure this service feels like the right fit for you before making the full investment..
Step 2: If we’re a fit, I'll reserve your date with the deposit and send your pre‑intensive forms via my secure portal.
Step 3: Meet for your intensive and leave with a concrete plan. We'll schedule our follow-up before you sign off.
