Hi! I'm Dr. Katie Carhart- I'm a
licensed psychologist.

I provide online therapy and psychological assessment for adults located in PSYPACT states, including Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia, Arizona, and Florida. Services include comprehensive online ADHD evaluations, trauma-informed therapy, and nervous-system–based (somatic) intensives.

Working with me is......
…a space where you can exhale and be fully seen, without needing to perform, mask, fix, or have everything figured out.
You might come in carrying trauma, burnout, anxiety, ADHD, or a sense of overwhelm you can’t quite name yet. You might also come in with a lot of insight and self-awareness, having read the books, done therapy before, and understood what’s happening, but still feeling stuck in the same emotional or nervous-system patterns. Most people are a mix of both.
Wherever you’re starting from, you’re welcome here.
Rather than focusing only on thoughts or behaviors, we look at the whole picture: how your brain, body, and nervous system have adapted to survive. This helps us move beyond insight alone and toward meaningful, embodied change, not just understanding your patterns, but gently shifting them.
We move at a pace that respects your system, not one that forces progress. Sessions may include reflection and insight, practical tools, boundary work, or nervous system regulation strategies you can bring into daily life. When capacity is limited, more strategies aren’t always helpful. Instead of piling on tools, we meet you where you are, and build from there.
That’s how meaningful change happens: gradually, sustainably, and in a way your nervous system can actually integrate over time. Together, we work toward aligning your mind, body, and choices so life begins to feel more grounded, intentional, and authentically yours again.
Understanding is powerful. Integration is what helps change last and that’s something we figure out together.
How I Help:
People come to therapy for many reasons, often more than one at the same time. Below are some of the most common areas I support, always with curiosity, compassion, and nervous-system-informed care.
Anxiety & Chronic Stress
When your mind won’t slow down and your body feels constantly on edge, even when things look “fine” on the outside. Therapy focuses on calming the nervous system, reducing mental loops, and helping you feel more settled in your body and daily life.
Trauma & Nervous System Regulation
For people who’ve learned how to survive, but want to feel more ease, connection, and safety again. Our work supports your nervous system in gently moving out of survival mode and into greater regulation and choice.
ADHD, Neurodivergence & Executive Functioning Support
Support for understanding how your brain works, reducing shame, and building systems that fit you. Whether you’re newly exploring neurodivergence or have known for years, therapy is tailored to honor your strengths and needs.
Depression & Burnout
When you’re running on empty, disconnected, or navigating a season of change that’s asking more of you than you can give. Therapy helps you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and find a more sustainable way forward.
Parenting Support
Support for parents navigating the emotional and nervous-system demands of caregiving, especially when parenting a neurodivergent or sensitive child. We focus on regulation, intention, and approaches that actually fit your family.
Relationship Concerns
When patterns of disconnection, conflict, or misattunement keep repeating. Couples Therapy or Family Therapy helps slow things down, clarify what’s happening beneath the surface, and support more secure, responsive connection.
Life Transitions & Identity Shifts
Big changes can leave you feeling ungrounded, overwhelmed, or unsure of who you are now, even when things are “going well.” Therapy can support you through transitions like IVF, the shift into parenthood, career changes, or other major life stages, helping you stay connected to yourself as you adapt.
ADHD Evaluations
Comprehensive online ADHD evaluations for adults, grounded in a trauma-informed and neurodivergence-affirming approach. The process is thorough, collaborative, and designed to provide clarity you can actually use.

You’ve been holding it together for a long time. It’s okay to stop running on empty.
What this work is really about...
Therapy isn’t about learning how to tolerate pain, anxiety, or stress: you’ve already been doing that. The deeper work is about helping your nervous system feel safe enough to experience presence, ease, connection and moments of joy without constantly bracing for what’s next.
In our work together, we’ll gently explore the patterns your body and nervous system learned in response to stress, and build tools that support regulation, choice, and steadiness over time. This isn’t about forcing change or fixing yourself, it’s about creating the conditions for change to happen naturally.
You don’t need to be at a certain stage or have everything figured out to begin. Wherever you are right now is enough to start.
If you’re curious about working together, the next step is a free consultation: a chance to ask questions, talk through what’s been feeling hard, and see if this approach feels like a good fit.
