Therapy Intensive: Somatic/Polyvagal Focus
Focused support in one day with tools you can use immediately.
When you don’t want to wait months to feel better, a therapy intensive offers a concentrated, evidence-based reset. In this four-hour experience, we’ll map the patterns keeping you stuck, understand what’s happening in your nervous system, and practice somatic and polyvagal-informed strategies that actually work for your brain and body.
You’ll leave with a personalized plan you can start using right away, plus a 45-minute follow-up session (within 2–4 weeks) to support integration and continued progress.

Who this is for

-
Busy professionals, caregivers, or high-achievers who want momentum and not months of weekly therapy
-
Adults experiencing anxiety, burnout, chronic stress, shutdown/overwhelm, trauma responses, or emotional reactivity
-
Individuals who feel dysregulated or “on edge” and want to understand why their nervous system reacts the way it does
-
People who already have a therapist but want a specialized, somatic/polyvagal skills boost
-
Clients who prefer clear tools, structure, and an actionable plan rather than open-ended talk therapy

Not a fit if you are currently in crisis or need a higher level of care. I’m happy to provide referrals when a different level of care is indicated.

What to expect on the day

Total time: 4 hours (with a 15‑minute break)

1. Foundation, Mapping & Goals (≈ 75 minutes)
This first phase goes far beyond a typical intake. We start by grounding together, reviewing your pre-intake questionnaires, and exploring the patterns, themes, and stuck points that shape your current experience.

We’ll identify:
-
burnout or stress cycles
-
core emotional and nervous system patterns
-
perfectionism/people-pleasing loops
-
attachment and relational dynamics
-
habitual responses that keep you feeling overwhelmed or disconnected

Together, we make sense of why things feel hard right now and clarify the 1–2 key areas that will have the biggest impact. You’ll leave this section with a coherent, compassionate map of what’s going on beneath the surface — and a clear direction for the rest of the intensive.

2. Nervous System Reset & Break (15 minutes)
A structured pause to support integration: Hydrate, move, breathe, step outside. This break helps your nervous system settle so the deeper work lands.
3. Skills, Processing & Strategy Deep-Dive (≈ 90 minutes)
This is the heart of the intensive. We move from understanding to real change through targeted work tailored to your goals. This may include:
-
polyvagal-informed regulation tools
-
somatic grounding + nervous system anchoring
-
CBT/ACT strategies for unhelpful thoughts and avoidance cycles
-
emotion processing and parts/inner child work
-
values clarification and alignment mapping
-
burnout recovery planning
-
boundary scripts and communication practice
-
practical behavioral tools that shift daily patterns

We’ll practice these tools in real time so they’re embodied and easier to use outside of session. The focus is on creating relief, clarity, and meaningful momentum, not just insight.

4. Integration, Meaning-Making & Personalized Plan (≈ 30 minutes)
We close by weaving everything together:
-
summarizing the key insights from the day
-
highlighting the core patterns and what they mean
-
identifying your personal nervous system anchors
-
mapping the next 2–4 weeks so you know exactly what to try and how
-
crafting scripts, routines, and micro-habits that fit your real life

You’ll walk away with a clear roadmap and a grounded sense of direction, not a list of overwhelming to-dos.

5. Personalized Toolkit & Action Plan
After your intensive, you’ll receive a personalized PDF that summarizes your key insights, nervous system patterns, and the specific strategies we practiced together. This becomes your “go-to” toolkit: a simple, structured action plan with the exact skills, routines, anchors, and scripts that will support you over the next 2–4 weeks. It’s tailored to your real life, so you know exactly what to focus on and how to implement it without overwhelm.

6. Follow-Up Session (45 minutes)
Held 2–4 weeks later: We check in on what’s shifted, troubleshoot challenges, refine your plan, and celebrate wins. This session reinforces the changes and ensures the intensive continues to support you well after the day itself.

Common questions

Is this therapy or coaching?
This is therapy provided via telehealth. Standard therapy consents apply, with an additional intensive supplement.
Can I submit this to insurance?
No. Because of the extended, bundled format, intensives are private pay only and do not come with a superbill.
I already have a therapist. Can I still do an intensive?
Yes. Many clients come for a focused skills boost and return to ongoing therapy with new tools. With your permission, I can coordinate with your therapist.
What if I realize I need longer‑term care?
We’ll discuss options, which may include moving into ongoing therapy with me if you are interested in that format and feel it would be a good fit. I can also provide referrals to other trusted providers if together we feel another modality would be a better match.
How should I prepare?
Complete your questionnaires, choose a quiet private space with stable internet, and bring water/snacks. We’ll take a 15‑minute break midway.
